2027 IDT Application Process
A New, Simpler Application Process for 2027
The IDT is excited to introduce a faster, more efficient application process for the 2027 tournament.
Paper applications are no longer required. Beginning this year, all teams will submit their application online through tagup. There’s no longer a need to print forms, mail applications, or wait for paperwork to be received.
Once your application has been reviewed:
Accepted teams will receive an email notification that their team has been accepted.
The acceptance email will include a Pay Now button to securely complete payment online through Stripe.
You may also log in to your tagup account at any time, select Events → My Events, and open your approved application to complete payment.
Teams that prefer to pay by check may still do so after acceptance.

Teams not immediately selected will automatically remain on the waiting list.
The new process makes applying, tracking your application, and completing payment easier than ever while still allowing teams the flexibility to pay by check if they choose.
Returning IDT Teams
If your team participated in the 2026 IDT, you already have a team account on tagup. There is no need to create a new account.
Simply click the application link below and log in using your existing tagup account.
If you have not yet updated your team for the 2027 season, you’ll be prompted to do so after signing in. Once your season has been updated, you can complete your tournament application online.
If your team is accepted into the tournament, simply:
Verify that your roster is current.
Upload your current proof of insurance.
Complete your tournament payment using the Pay Now button in your acceptance email or by logging into tagup and selecting Events → My Events.
If you prefer, you may still mail a check instead of paying online.

New Teams
If this is your first time applying to the IDT, you’ll create a new team account on tagup and complete your application online.
To assist the selection committee, please provide as much information as possible, including:
Team accomplishments
National and regional tournament results
End-of-season championship finishes
Participation in exposure events
Any additional information that demonstrates your team’s competitive level
The more information you provide, the better the selection committee can evaluate your application.
2027 Tournament Information
Dates: June 28–July 2, 2027 (Monday–Friday)
Entry Fee: $2,900
Tournament Format
Seven-game guarantee
Six pool play games
Single-elimination championship bracket
Practice Games
Practice games will be available by request on Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27. Scheduling information will be released in March.
Competition
The IDT continues to feature one of the nation’s premier fields of competition, including many national champions and top-ranked programs from across the country.
Priority for acceptance is based on:
Team quality
Past performance and participation
Geographic representation
Applications will be reviewed after the application deadline, and accepted teams will be notified by email. Teams not immediately selected will remain on the waiting list.
Teams withdrawing more than two weeks before the start of the tournament are eligible for a full refund.
Team Rosters
As in previous years, tagup will continue to serve as the official digital team roster book for the IDT. College coaches and recruiters will use team rosters and player profiles available through tagup throughout the event.
Accepted teams should ensure their roster is current and that their proof of insurance has been uploaded prior to the tournament.

What Happens Next?
Submit your application online.
The IDT committee reviews all applications.
If your team is accepted, you’ll receive an email with your acceptance and a Pay Now button.
You can also log in to tagup at any time, select Events → My Events, and complete payment from your approved application.
Pay securely online through Stripe or mail a check if you prefer.
Prior to the tournament, ensure your roster is current and your proof of insurance has been uploaded.
No more paper applications. No more printing and mailing forms. Simply apply online, wait for your acceptance notification, and complete your payment if accepted.
